BE HARDWORKING

*Meaning*

I think it was Henry Wadsworth Longfellow who wrote the beautiful poem that says, "The height by great men reached and kept, were not attained in sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night". This poem simply means that nobody became successful overnight or suddenly leaped into greatness. The fact that you or people did not see them working does not mean they were doing nothing. They were striving while others were sleeping. And their hard work paid off. There is no substitute for hard work. Hard work is the steam that drives the engine of success. However talented you are if you don't work hard, your talent is useless. And don't forget that, "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" (anonymous). Don't wait to learn this lesson the hard way. Be hardworking!
